Sad News: Josh Hermsen

Perhaps you already have heard that our dear friend Michele Hermsen ( teacher and coordinator for the Art Department for the Fairfield Public Schools) has lost her beloved son Joshua Hermsen who died suddenly of a massive cardiac event several days ago. Michele has asked for privacy at this time and there will be a public service on the evening of August 17th at Penfield .

We had all hoped for many more years for our cherished Josh, but were grateful for this amazing person.

Bobbie Loss

Below is a copy of Michele’s FB announcement:

It is with deepest sadness that We announce the passing of our beloved son and brother, Josh.

Josh died suddenly, yesterday, at home, with what appears to have been a “massive cardiac event”. Despite life’s challenges, Josh achieved so much in his 26.5 years.

We appreciate all your support, but are asking for a bit of privacy at this time. We are planning a public service for the evening of August 17, 2022 at Penfield Beach, with details to follow. … Additionally, some of you know, Josh was almost done with his graduate degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sacred Heart University. While Josh was hospitalized, waiting for his third transplant, The President of SHU, informed Josh that he had been granted a full scholarship. Our family would like to honor Josh by creating a scholarship in his name, for an aspiring SHU student, pursuing a similar path. This, of course will require some time to set up, but, this is our thought at this time.

We have no doubt, Josh would have liked this idea. He would have told us to “give back”. Josh’s wishes and mission have always been very clear.

We are certain Josh has touched many lives, while leaving his footprint. His legacy will live on. He even wrote a rap about it!

Josh,

Today, we are reeling from intense pain, but tomorrow, we will reap the benefits of the work you have done to make this world a better place.

And so…..God’s Will Be Done.

With Love,

The Hermsen and DiGiandomenico Families.

Thank you,

Bobbie Loss
