Below are the two "Thank-you" notes which Dick Dezenzo, chairman of the Scholarship Committee, received from our 2021 REF Scholarship Recipients:
Mr. Dezenzo,
Thank you so much for choosing me as the recipient of the Retired Educators of Fairfield Scholarship. I’ve always wanted to be an Elementary School Teacher. This scholarship will help me reach that goal.
Thank you,
Ferhada Kojic (- :
(2021 Warde REF Scholarship Recipient)
Dear Mr. Dezenzo,
Thank you so much for picking me for your scholarship. I am going to Sr. Michael’s College to study Psychology and hopefully become a school counselor like my mom.
I had a great 4 years at Ludlowe, playing JV Soccer and tennis my freshman year, then the next 3 years on varsity where I have made so many memories and friends. Ijust want to thank you again for ending my high school career with something else to celebrate.
Sincerely,
Sawyer Nessel
( 2021 Ludlowe REF Scholarship Recipient)
In addition to the two Scholarships awarded in 2021, REF additionally donated $1,000 to the CT Food Bank. This donation came out of the money from membership dues, and the REF Board felt that it was appropriate considering how many CT families are currently suffering from food scarcity.
In addition, REF donated $500 to support CT History Day ( Volunteerism ) which benefits CT students in developing research and presentation skills.
