Living Life With Laughter

One of Dottie's one-of-a-kind creations.

Posted July 9, 2017

How nice it was to finally make the First Friday Breakfast with the retired teachers of Fairfield. Retired is definitely not the word for this group! So many are involved in such interesting endeavors.

During the many years since I retired, I have continued with my speaking on Humor as an important life management tool. It is gratifying (and maybe a little “I told you so”) to witness the major importance given by well-known leaders in medicine, education, business, politics and more to the power of humor in all aspects of personal and professional life.

I also took up beading and derive great pleasure from creating one-of-a-kind pieces. What started as a creative past-time turned into more when people wanted to buy what I made!

Last year I did something I thought I’d never do - went back to work! An opportunity arose, and, after some trepidation, I took it. Serving as Administrative Assistant to the Dean of St. Nersess Armenian Seminary, Armonk, NY is where I am 3 days a week. It was an excellent decision! My Armenian heritage has always been an integral part of my life and entire being, thus, this is quite meaningful for me.

Although I still miss my sweet, amazing husband, John, I am grateful to God each day for the many good things in life and one of the best was my career in Fairfield. Thanks everyone for your warm welcome. And special thanks to you Paula Sweeley for the fantastic role you are playing - done so lovingly, competently and professionally. Here’s wishing everyone great health, happiness nd strength.

“Laughter is like a muscle; if you don’t use it, you lose it!” I wish us all more laughter.

Dear Dottie,
So good to read about you.
Hopefully, we'll be able to reconnect.
